Christmas 2008

we spent Christmas in Cache Valley this year. All of the Meppen clan was there...it was a full house...and lots of fun!

the festivities began with...
pheasant hunting for the brave, nich, brad and my dad

skiing/snowboarding at Beaver Mtn...

and the rest of us stayed home and slaved over a hot stove to make meatballs and sauce(nich's family recipe)
I know lovely apron...its probably what my grandma wore in the kitchen!

every year on Christmas Eve we pick a country and eat what they would eat on Christmas and do any traditions they would do. this year my mom chose Denmark(where our ancestors are from) we had chicken and dumpling soup and homemade rolls...it was delicious!
in Denmark the tradition for Christmas is to pull out the Christmas tree and dance around it, instead we... played Rudoloh with chimes

then opened our Christmas eve pj's(my favorite part of Christmas...I love getting new jammies!)

keags got frog and monkey pj's

nich got some beautifully hemmed pj's(almost done by himself)he hates to sleep in long pj's cause he gets stuck in the sheets!
then it was off to bed to wait for Santa to come
keags of course was spoiled!!
He loved all his wonderful gifts!
I think he loved eating the wrapping paper more than the toys inside!

i was super excited for my forerunner Santa brought...Thank you Santa!! :)
